Rehana has been part of the Tufnell Park Osteopaths family practice treating adults, children and babies, since 2004.
Originally, a graduate of Cultural Studies and post-grad in History and Ancient Religious Philosophy from SOAS, she worked as an editor in book-publishing and as a theatre administrator.
After the birth of her son, she followed her interests in natural health; re-training at the British College of Osteopathy & Naturopathy (now BCOM), plus an MSc in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) which included valuable time in special care baby units at the North Middlesex and Barnet Hospitals: working with pre- and post-natal mums, babies with feeding or sleep difficulties, through to complex infant developmental issues.
As with the nature-cure origin of osteopathy, Rehana has been able to integrate her background in science, the arts, naturopathy and philosophy to inform her practice. She is inspired by the idea of our narratives being 'held' in the body and how osteopathically we can support the potential health in each of us: when underlying patterns are addressed, the body is able to respond, alleviating pain and restriction and so allowing us to live in our bodies with more ease.
Rehana continues to learn and refine her practical and perceptual skills with post-graduate biodynamic cranial phase training, as well as studies in attachment-based psychotherapy. She has worked in the NHS and lectured as Clinic Tutor in the cranial approach at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM).
She is registered with the statutory governing body, the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO), the Sutherland Cranial College (SCC) and an Alumni member of the Foundation of Paediatric Osteopathy (FPO).
